National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls

Falls from elevation pose a serious risk in the construction segment. According to BLS Data, fall incidents accounted for 401 of the 1,061 construction fatalities in 2019.

In an effort to mitigate these risks, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be hosting the 8th Annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls on May 3-7. The purpose of this campaign is to encourage the use of fall safety measures through a series of both national and regional virtual events, including seminars, discussions, policy overviews and more to assist employers with fall safety prevention.

To promote the event and spread awareness of fall safety, OSHA has created #StandDown4Safety.
